Stuart Sinclair has been an academic, international civil servant and CEO.

He was a lecturer in economics at Reading University from 1976-7, during which time he co-authored a book on OPEC. He then worked as an economist with the Saudi Foreign Ministry and the United Nations.

Mr Sinclair spent ten years as a management consultant in Boston, USA, and from 1994-2006 in multinationals at divisional CEO level, latterly as CEO of GE Capital in Shanghai.

Mr Sinclair is non-executive director on the boards of Liverpool Victoria, Pru-Health, chairman of an IFC-backed bank in Kiev, and chairman of a software start-up in Edinburgh.

His research interests include China, energy and banking.
