A number of his friends and associates agreed to commemorate him with an annual lecture to be given in successive years at Sussex University, the London School of Economics, and Chatham House. The subject of the annual lecture was to reflect the breadth of Martin Wight's interest in history and international relations.
This annual lecture is held in association with the Naval and Military Club. The usual format of the event is a lecture at Chatham House, followed by drinks and dinner at the Naval and Military Club, No 4 St James's Square, for a small fee.
