Overview

Eddie Mair chairs a BBC debate on the progress of the conflict in Afghanistan. Some expert observers say 'It's over; the Taliban have won the war'; others believe neither side can win. Yet all agree that the coalition's work in the country is not going well and that the end must be in sight. Panellists include Peter W Galbraith and Lieutenant General Sir Graeme Lamb, former senior advisor to US General McChrystal. Active audience participation will be encouraged.
