Through remittances, African diaspora sent over $40 billion to Africa in 2011. High profile philanthropists such as Tony Elumelu and Mo Ibrahim have brought conventional philanthropy to the continent, whilst new platforms have emerged which seek to energise philanthropic giving amongst young Africans.
This event will mark the launch of 'Africa-Gives', an AFFORD initiative which aims to network young Africans in the diaspora to share their experiences of Africa and inspire a new generation to seize the growing opportunities in a fast changing continent.
Tea and coffee will be served from 09.00.
