Despite its absolute prohibition by international law, the practice of torture pervades in many countries. Although domestic and international courts are increasingly recognizing the rights of torture victims to seek remedy and reparation, practical obstacles remain. The speaker will discuss these challenges and the global efforts to eradicate torture.
