Within the context of continuing global increase in coal consumption, the contribution of coal to greenhouse gas emissions, and the urgency to reduce these, this workshop will consider the status of the coal sector globally. Participants will discuss the factors that might affect its development and its impact on other energy sources and environmental objectives.
