Dr Keun-Wook Paik will launch his briefing paper Through the Dragon Gate? A Window of Opportunity for Northeast Asian Gas Security, which looks at the imminent challenges for Sino-Russian gas cooperation and the status of the pipeline proposals on the table.

The event will also consider other dynamics affecting negotiations including the potential for new LNG supplies from North America and East Africa, shifting energy policy in Japan and the new leaderships in South and North Korea. Discussions will draw out the implications for regional security and global gas trading.

This event is part of the Fossil Fuels Expert Roundtable project.
