Efforts to foster peace and security in the African Great Lakes region, which has been home to recurring conflicts that have killed tens of thousands and displaced millions of others, have once again been tested by recent developments in eastern DRC.  

Ambassador De Coninck, Belgian Special Envoy for the Great Lakes and former Ambassador to Rwanda and to the DRC, will discuss the security situation and prospects for peace in the region.
