Reza Moghadam, Director, European Department, International Monetary Fund
Chair: Chris Giles, Economics Editor, Financial Times
At the beginning of 2012 the collapse of the euro, or a Greek exit, were being discussed as fast-approaching possibilities. A year later, financial markets appear to have calmed, as has discussion of a collapse of the single currency. Is the eurozone crisis over, or is this simply another stage in an ongoing saga?
Reza Moghadam will look at the factors behind the European economic crisis, provide an assessment of the measures taken to address it and evaluate the prospects of recovery across Europe.
This event will be followed by a drinks reception at 19:00.
