Events in the Sahel and Horn of Africa are likely to continue to dominate headlines, but UK priorities include a far larger set of relationships and issues across Africa. Governance remains an important concern, but the growing commercial dynamism that characterizes many African states is of obvious interest to the UK as it seeks to diversify its trade relationships. UK activity also remains focused on supporting African efforts to strengthen security, both on land and at sea, as well as on deepening regional trade.

At this event, the speaker will offer his personal insights on current trends in Africa and how the UK is responding to them.

Attendance is by invitation only.
