Against the background of the evolving character of conflicts and the development of so-called hybrid conflicts, the project considers the classification of modern conflicts and the law applicable to them.
Countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo have been caught in the midst of some of the bloodiest contemporary armed conflicts, largely perpetuated by the struggle over resource-rich territories.
