International Security is undertaking research that seeks to analyse key security challenges in cyberspace, identify policy responses and establish a knowledge base for public and private sector decision-makers and wider society.
The number of interdependent actors and networks in cyberspace is growing rapidly, raising pertinent questions about cooperation, sovereignty and security.
Society's increasing dependence on information and communications technology infrastructure creates vulnerabilities and opportunities that can be exploited by unscrupulous actors.
Whether through malicious hacking, financial fraud, espionage or conflict in cyberspace, the risks to national and international security are changing rapidly. However, cyber security is not just the concern of governments and commercial enterprises. It is an issue that concerns all of society, particularly as we become ever more dependent on cyber-enabled infrastructure and the benefits it provides.
In March 2012, Chatham House hosted an online forum on cyber security. More.
