Environment and Society Discussion Series

Promoting knowledge sharing and policy dialogue to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change, biodiversity loss and natural resource depletion.

Events encompass the broad range of issues being worked on within the Environment and Society Centre including: climate change and international climate negotiations; the future of food; sustainable land-use; biodiversity; metals, mining and minerals; circular economy; the energy transition; energy access; resource trade; forest governance; green finance; climate security and many other areas.

Contributors are invited to consider current challenges, emerging opportunities, policy implications and the action needed to address the ever-evolving issues within these areas. What are different actors neglecting? What radical changes or policies are needed? What would help equip policymakers and practitioners to better deal with a given challenge? Who can have impact and how?

The series builds understanding among attendees around these critical areas, bringing scientific and research knowledge as well as relevant practical experience to the table.
