Middle East Regional Security Initiative

This project seeks to lay out a realistic roadmap to address regional security challenges in the Middle East.

The initiative explores mechanisms and processes that could lead to a regional framework that would address countries’ security concerns, decrease the risk of escalation and increase coordination and cooperation between states and between the region and international actors.

The project draws on over 200 interviews with experts and current and former policy makers in Middle Eastern countries and international powers.

The project’s aim is to identify specific and detailed policy recommendations on the pre-conditions, confidence-building measures and mechanisms that could help initiate a regional security process.
