Biography

Sir Andrew Wood is an associate fellow of the Russia and Eurasia programme. He was British ambassador to Yugoslavia from 1985 to 1989, and ambassador to Russia from 1995 to 2000, having earlier served in Moscow in 1964-66 and 1979-82. His focus at Chatham House is on Russia’s domestic and foreign policies. He has acted since his retirement in 2000 from the Diplomatic Service on behalf of a number of firms with interests in Russia and other formerly Soviet countries.
