Biography
Robert Moikowa is a visiting fellow from Sierra Leone. He is a strategic planner and a social development specialist with experience across UN agencies, governments, international organizations and universities.
He worked mainly in Germany, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone. He holds a PhD in Political Science (Technical University of Dortmund, Germany). His research interests are human capital development and peacebuilding.
In the Sierra Leone government, he supported service delivery and the preparation of the Medium-Term National Development Plan, aligned to the UN SDGs. Preparation of policies supported include the National Population Policy and the Social Protection policy.
At UNIPSIL he supported the implementation of the peacebuilding fund and the strengthening of democratic institutions, governance processes and elections management, resulting in peaceful elections, and a peaceful political transition in Sierra Leone after the civil war.
At UNDP, Robert facilitated a fragility assessment and the transition to sustainable peace. At UNICEF he coordinated social protection and emergencies, including the Ebola response.
