Rowan John Sutherland McConkey

Biography
Rowan McConkey is the current Chief of the General Staff’s Research Fellow in the International Security Programme at Chatham House. He is a serving regular officer in the Royal Dragoon Guards, a British Army cavalry regiment.
Since joining the Army in 2010, his career to date has seen him gain experience in intelligence-led operations, counter illegal wildlife trade activity (in Malawi and Zambia), military land equipment capability, and cyber. In addition, he is a defence equality and diversity advisor.
Rowan has a BSc in Computing and Information Technology from Queen’s University Belfast and an MSc in Cyberspace Operations from Cranfield University.
