The Asia Programme focuses on India's foreign policy both at a global and regional level.

Research has considered India's aid programme to other countries, and how this relates to India's global role; how Afghanistan can act to build confidence between India and Pakistan; and the means by which the EU and India could work together. Ongoing research is exploring the impact of India's regional parties on its foreign policy within its neighbourhood. The programme has also been involved in policy-oriented strategies for engagement with India for a number of Western governments.
