This project examines how the Russian authorities are organizing their resources to meet what they see as an increasingly unstable international environment.

Andrew Monaghan analyses how the Russian state is mobilizing its capacity in anticipation of international competition, even war, and a possible direct threat to Russia in terms of external interference in its domestic politics. Events and publications will examine the various components of mobilization, including military and economic capacity and political authority and societal cohesion.

This project is generously supported by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung.
