Annalena Baerbock was elected Member of the German Bundestag in September 2013. Being the Spokesperson for Climate Policy of the Green Parliamentary Group, she sits on the Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy and the Committee on the Affairs of the European Union. She is a deputy member of the Committee on the Environment, Nature, Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as well as a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Council of the German Renewable Energy Federation. From 2012 to 2015 she was a member of the Party Council of the Green Party of Germany, and from 2009 to 2012 she served as Board Member of the European Green Party as well as Party Leader of the Green Party of Brandenburg from 2009 to 2013. Before that she was a Political Adviser on Foreign and Security Policies for the Green Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag (2008–09) and Parliamentary Advisor to MEP Elisabeth Schroedter (2005–08).
