Ambassador Nicola Clase currently serves as Coordinator for Migration and Refugee Issues at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Previously she served as Swedish Ambassador to the UK for six years. She held the position of State Secretary for Foreign and EU Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office from 2006 to 2008. From 2004 to 2006 she served as Chief Foreign Policy Adviser to the leader of the Swedish Moderate Party, and from 1991 to 1999 and 2002 to October 2004 she served in the Swedish Foreign Ministry and had postings in London and Copenhagen. She held a fellowship at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University from 1999 to 2000 and was an associate at Harvard University from 2008 to 2009. She has a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Stockholm.
