Beppe Severgnini has been a contributing opinion writer for The International New York Times since 2013. He is an opinion columnist for the daily newspaper Corriere della Sera and the author of fourteen books, including the American best sellers Ciao, America! An Italian Discovers the US and La Bella Figura: A Field Guide to the Italian Mind. His most recent book is Italians of Tomorrow: 8 Doors to the Future. His writing has appeared in The Financial Times and The Economist, where he was the Italy correspondent from 1996 to 2003. In 2004, he was voted ‘European Journalist of the Year’ by the readers of the European Voice, a Brussels newspaper.
