Dr Fabrizio Saccomanni is Vice-President of the International Affairs Institute in Rome; Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics; Senior Fellow of the School of European Political Economy at the LUISS University, Rome; and Director General Emeritus of the Bank of Italy. He was Minister of Economy and Finance in the Italian government from April 2013 to February 2014, and previously Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Italy (2006–13); member of the board of directors of the Bank for International Settlements (2006–13); alternate member of the governing council of the European Central Bank (2006–13); and Vice-President for Risk Management at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (2003–06). He is the author of Managing International Financial Instability: National Tamers versus Global Tigers.
