Summary

Thomas Birringer is Head of the Middle East and North Africa Team within the Department European and International Cooperation of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) since April 2014 and was Head of the Africa and Middle East Team from July 2012 to March 2014. Previously he was in charge of the Regional Program Gulf States and was the Head of KAS Ramallah from 2005 to 2009. Before his postings in the Middle East he served as an advisor to the CEO of the Association of German Banks in Berlin and as a speechwriter for the Prime Minister of Thüringen. Thomas Birringer holds a Diploma (M.A.) in Economics from the University of Trier where he also studied Political Science and taught European Economic Policy.
