Overview

The African Development Bank (AfDB) is the continent’s premier financial institution, and has gained worldwide recognition for its achievements. Although currently a relatively small investor in Africa, the AfDB’s contributions are increasing and it has become the favoured partner institution for inward investment into Africa. In the last decade, the AfDB has implemented a new strategy to enhance development and reduce poverty by supporting infrastructure development, emphasizing the role of the private sector and promoting the benefits of regional integration.

Donald Kaberuka, in his second term as president of the African Development Bank, will examine the strategic direction of the bank and discuss essential policies for implementation to ensure economic transformation on the continent.
