Banking on Asia: The United States, Japan and Asia’s Multilateral Development Banks
The speaker will argue that although the emergence of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) could be seen as a challenge to the Bretton Woods order, this may not necessarily be a negative thing. Both competition and cooperation are important elements of an evolving global financial order. Its institutional governance will determine whether or not the AIIB will be a positive factor in Asia’s economic development.
