Overview

The panel will examine the foundations of America’s special relationship with Israel and consider whether any shifts are occurring. Jonathan Rynhold will suggest there is an ‘Israel paradox’ in American political culture– the growth of both support for Israel and controversy surrounding its policies. The speakers will explore the nature of this paradox and its implications for US policy towards the peace process, including the question of whether bipartisan support for Israel is eroding.
