Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Road to EU Integration
In 2008, a Stabilization and Association agreement was signed between the European Union and Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), establishing a framework for cooperation and serving as the basis for eventual accession to the EU. However, years of political stalemate in BiH delayed the implementation of the agreement until March 2015 when the EU deemed that the state had made sufficient economic and democratic progress to allow the Agreement to enter into force. Despite this breakthrough, much remains to be done before any serious accession negotiations can begin.
The minister of foreign affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina will discuss the state’s reform agenda and give his perspectives on its progress towards EU accession.
