Professor Sara Hobolt, Sutherland Chair in European Institutions, LSE
Emma Hogan, Europe correspondent, The Economist
Professor Anand Menon, Associate Fellow, Europe Programme, Chatham House
Chair: Professor Andrew Dorman, Commissioning Editor, International Affairs

In the November issue of International Affairs, Professor Anand Menon and Dr John-Paul Salter discuss the United Kingdom’s relationship with the European Union. Taking its lead from the article, this event will look at the history of the UK’s relationship with the EU, analyse the referendum result and discuss the ongoing negotiations around Brexit.
Following on from the Conservative Party Conference, where the UK prime minister said that she plans to trigger Article 50 before March next year, the panel will discuss how the negotiations are likely to play out and how the prospect of Brexit is being received both in the UK and in Europe.

This event will be followed by a reception.
