As world leaders agree a new set of UN development goals, the speakers will discuss how the changing international context is shaping new approaches to development and examine the contribution that the UK can make as the world’s second-largest donor.  The speakers will also discuss some of the dilemmas facing Western development policy, including the challenges of poverty in middle income countries, the role of new development actors, including the private sector, in development, and the relationship between development assistance and the national interest.

This event will be followed by a reception.
