Overview

After widespread protests in October 2014 Blaise Compaoré relinquished the presidency in Burkina Faso after 27 years in power. An interim government is now in place as the process of election preparations gets underway. Both domestic and international expectations for a shift to a democratically elected civilian government are high.

Bram Posthumus will discuss the events of October 2014 and present his analysis of the prospects for the interim government and the election.
