China and the Peaceful Settlement of Disputes

Overview

This two day roundtable meeting focuses on the peaceful settlement of disputes, but will also include discussion of broader issues including human rights, international humanitarian law and international criminal law.

The meeting is an opportunity for Chinese international law academics to present their thinking and exchange ideas with counterparts from outside China and to build a stronger understanding within the wider international law community of intellectual discussions in China about the international rule of law and China's approach to it.

This event will be held in collaboration with the China University of Political Science and Law and forms part of a wider Chatham House project on China and the Future of the International Legal Order.
