Ahead of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress will discuss a number of key foreign policy issues facing the country, focussing mainly on the North Korea situation but also considering the Belt and Road Initiative, the South China Sea and US-China relations under the Trump administration.

To enable as open a debate as possible, this event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
