Civil Society and Nuclear Weapons Policy
This workshop is part of a series exploring the role of civil society and humanitarian organizations in nuclear weapons policy, and is meant to foster dialogue between humanitarian organizations, NGOs, and governments. This event will discuss the nature of a nuclear detonation, the medical and environmental impacts, response plans and options, and international initiatives to further explore the humanitarian impacts of a nuclear detonation. Humanitarian organizations play a key role in these dialogues by contributing their expertise and on-the-ground experience. The workshops are also an opportunity for the organizations to engage with other experts in the field and international bodies, including the UN, and to improve their own understanding of recent international initiatives and how they apply to their work.
This event is being held in partnership with Observer Research Foundation (ORF).
Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
Please note that this event is being held in Bangkok, Thailand. All times are local.
