The Divide Between Order and Disorder
Thomas Friedman, Columnist, The New York Times
Chair: Lord Michael Williams of Baglan, Distinguished Visiting Fellow, Chatham House
Thomas Friedman argues that the main divide in the world today is not between East and West or North and South but between order and disorder. He contends that the challenge is to build and reinforce the 'sustainable order' of Western democracies instead of the unsustainable 'imposed order' of states such as Russia.
