7 October 2014 - 2:30pm to 3:30pm

Chatham House, London

Maria van der Hoeven, Executive Director, International Energy Agency
Introductory remarks: Edmund Hosker, Director, EU, International and Energy Resilience at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)

This event marks the UK launch of the International Energy Agency (IEA) publication Energy Technology Perspectives 2014: Harnessing Electricity’s Potential (ETP 2014). During the event, Maria van der Hoeven, executive director of the IEA, will present the ETP 2014, which offers a comprehensive, long-term analysis of trends in the energy sector - and of the technologies that are essential to achieving an affordable, secure and low-carbon system. Starting from the premise that electricity will be an increasingly important vector in energy systems of the future, ETP 2014 takes a deep dive into actions needed to support deployment of sustainable options for generation, distribution and end-use consumption.

This event is jointly hosted by Chatham House and The Grantham Institute, Imperial College London. Attendance is strictly by invitation only.
