Overview

The EU has struggled to forge a united response to the arrival of over 1 million refugees and migrants in the last year. What policy and legal initiatives can we expect to see from the EU in the coming months? How will divergent views, on issues such as the relocation of refugees and the future of the Dublin system, be tackled and what lies behind these differences? Are there approaches that can reconcile competing national interests as well as strengthen compliance with international refugee law? And what lessons can be learnt from other refugee emergencies?

This meeting will be followed by a drinks reception.
