French Policy in Africa: Balancing Priorities in a Changing Context
African governments and their international partners are confronted by difficult policy choices in tackling both immediate crises and looming challenges. They are equally eager to make the most of opportunities offered by the progress and growth of many African countries in recent years. France is currently engaged in a range of complex policy challenges in Africa, including the ebola outbreak, security crises such as in the Central African Republic, and negotiations to settle the Mali conflict. At this event, M. Belliard will discuss how the need for reactive policy in many contexts sits with France’s wider strategy in Africa.
