The Future of the City After Brexit
This event is now full and registration has now closed.
The UK government are yet to set explicit goals for the financial services sector after Brexit. Increasingly, bankers, traders, asset managers and insurers are asking for clarity about what the rules will be during and after any transition period.
Shriti Vadera will discuss prospects for the future of an industry that employs more than one million people in the UK, contributing nearly 12 per cent of total government tax receipts, with London alone contributing around half of these figures. How might London’s position as a global financial centre change after Brexit? Is it likely that City institutions could 'passport' into the European Economic Area? And is there willingness to make concessions on some of the stated red lines?
To enable as open a debate as possible, this event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
This event is only open to Major Corporate Member and Partner organizations of Chatham House.
