The Future of UK Security and Defence Policy
James de Waal, Senior Fellow, International Security, Chatham House
James de Waal will consider the strategic and political thinking which shaped the 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review, and what the outcome says about the future direction of UK defence and security policy. He will argue that the review provided a means both to protect the UK against state and non-state threats, and to counter criticism of accepting national ‘strategic shrinkage’ after previous cuts.
Attendance is strictly by invitation only. To enable as open a debate as possible, this event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
This event is only open to Major Corporate Member and Partner organizations of Chatham House. To register for this event, please RSVP to Linda Bedford.
