Overview

With ambitions to become an emerging economic power in the next decade and a regional investment hub, Gabon is seeking new partnerships and sources of finance to diversify its economy away from oil and develop its industrial and service sectors. But a vision for regional integration, essential to its ambitions, is tempered by threats to stability  in neighbouring countries that constrain new trading opportunities. Regional security will therefore remain high on Gabon’s foreign policy agenda for the immediate future.

Foreign affairs minister Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet will outline Gabon’s international priorities and strategies to support growth and stability in the region as a way to leverage strong national economic growth for further development and political stability.
