Germany’s Russia Challenge
John Lough, Managing Director, JBKL Advisory Limited; Associate Fellow, Russia and Eurasia Programme, Chatham House
The current disharmony in Europe’s relations with Russia is felt acutely by Germany. However, despite its deep historical roots in Russia and its unparalleled contacts in the country, Germany is not well equipped to take the lead in developing a new Western concept for managing relations with Russia. This event will explore Germany’s complex relations with Russia and how Western partners should approach working with Germany to resist malevolent Russian behaviour and, over time, encourage Russia onto a path of reform and modernization.
Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
