On 17 January 2017, Prime Minister Theresa May set out the government’s priorities for its negotiations with the EU. In her speech, she indicated her intention to take the UK out of the single market and negotiate a comprehensive trade agreement with the EU, which would include a new customs arrangement.

In this session, the speaker will put forward some of the opportunities for UK businesses outside of the EU. He will also outline the ways the UK government can minimise disruption to UK trade during the article 50 process and subsequent negotiations with the EU.

This is part of a series run by the Europe Programme on ‘Britain and Europe: The Post-Referendum Agenda’.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
