Global health crises - including infectious disease outbreaks and other hazards – are threats to the health of both individuals and whole populations. A wide range of global, regional and national stakeholders within the health sector, and also externally, play a considerable role in ensuring adequate preparedness for preventing and responding to such crises. There is agreement that a high level of accountability needs to be ensured in order to keep the world safe.
