Green Public Procurement and Consumer Awareness in the FLEGT Action Plan

18 May 2015 - 9:00am to 4:00pm

Chatham House, London

The event is part of a broader process of consultation exploring six Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) themes with UK stakeholders; which will inform the formal evaluation of the FLEGT Action Plan at the EU level and the UK government position on FLEGT issues moving forward.

Key questions to be addressed include the extent to which green public procurement (GPP) has increased the use of legal and sustainable wood products, what could be improved, the nature and impact of individual consumer choices on forest products and the extent to which behaviour has and can be influenced by FLEGT activities. The meeting will also consider policy options for both GPP and working with individual consumers for future FLEGT work at the UK and EU levels.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
