Host Countries Re-Visited
This workshop is part of a three-year project that builds upon work already undertaken by the Middle East and North Africa Programme in facilitating dialogue between Arab and international stakeholders on the Palestinian refugee issue. The current phase focuses on the regional dimension of the issue – the position in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. A previous meeting held in September 2002 examined aspects of host country involvement with respect to international law. Five years on, this workshop will seek to re-examine the issues related to host country positions and assess what, if anything, has changed concerning their role in the Palestinian refugee issue.
