Syria’s economy and society have been devastated by its five-year war. A multiyear research project between the UN Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (UN-ESCWA) and St Andrews University has investigated living conditions and the socioeconomic situation across the country and sought to identify the key elements that will be required, from both Syrians and the international community, to rebuild Syria once there is peace.
At this event, the deputy executive secretary of UN-ESCWA will discuss the findings of this research and analyse potential future challenges and opportunities for rebuilding Syria.

The full report can be found on the UN-ESCWA website.
