How the Internet is Shaping the Middle East

The speaker will discuss the development of the internet in the Middle East, examining the evolution of web-based industries and considering links between the state of internet infrastructure and security, stability and economic development in the region. She will also assess the significance of high use of social media compared to relatively low use of domain names and websites by governments and businesses and consider how further developing internet industries could help to drive economic growth in the region.
