Humanitarian Impacts of Nuclear Testing in the African Continent
This two-day workshop is part of a series exploring the role of humanitarian organizations in responding to a nuclear detonation and the effects of nuclear testing.
The workshop is meant to foster dialogue between humanitarian organizations, NGOs, academics and governments. Day one will examine the nature of nuclear detonations, medical and environmental impacts of nuclear testing, regional effects, impacts on cultural heritage and international initiatives exploring the humanitarian impacts of nuclear testing and detonations. On day two, there will be interactive discussions based on a scenario to further examine the response plans and options in the event of a nuclear detonation.
This event is being held in partnership with AFRICSIS.
Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
