Implementing the Energy Future in a Challenging (Geo)political Context: Policy Challenges in the UK and Switzerland
Within Europe, 2014 has been a challenging year for the energy sector with - among other developments - growing threats of supply instability as a result of geopolitical tensions in producing and transit regions, the development of new EU 2030 climate and energy targets and the preparations for the post-2020 international climate regime.
This one-day workshop will discuss how energy policy-makers and the industry in the UK and non EU-member Switzerland deal with the challenges and insecurities ahead. What are the proposals for reaching energy policy objectives in the fields of supply security, sustainability and affordability? What can energy research and cleantech contribute and how can it be financed?
The speakers will discuss these questions and identify opportunities for strategic cooperation in implementing the energy future.
This event is organized in partnership with the Embassy of Switzerland in the UK and Presence Switzerland.
THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL AND REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
